Mark Shoptaugh, Jr., MD is a multigenerational Baton Rouge native. He attended University High School and received his undergraduate education at LSU. After receiving his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, LA and completing his residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, he is excited to have returned to the Baton Rouge community. His clinical interests are varied. He works as a general adult out-patient psychiatrist and has reputation for thorough diagnostic assessment. He is currently working on research to improve symptom tracking in daily psychiatric practice. He also has a passion for medical student education and enjoys his role at LSU-Our Lady of the Lake as the Director of Medical Student Education for the LSU medical students rotating through Psychiatry in Baton Rouge. Dr. Shoptaugh is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
