Plastic and reconstructive surgeon Jonathan L. Kaplan, MD, leads the Center’s skilled team of nurses, anesthetists and technical personnel. Originally from Alexandria, Louisiana, Dr. Kaplan attended medical school and finished his residency in general surgery at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He then completed a plastic surgery fellowship at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.
Dr. Kaplan has experience in procedures such as breast reconstruction, as well as common and complex surgeries for problems resulting from acquired deformities. He is also fully trained in the latest surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Kaplan performs most minor procedures in his office. However, when specific surgical procedures require special resources, he will utilize one of Our Lady of the Lake’s associated facilities. He will also be available in Our Lady of the Lake Wound Care Center for evaluation of any complex wound as a result of trauma or previous surgery.
