Internal Medicine

Internal medicine deals with prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Doctors who specialize in internal medicine are called internists, and are skilled in managing patients who have undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes. Internists care for hospitalized and same day patients, and often play a major role in teaching and research.
